Snow Patrol, una banda que pese a necesitar un cambio como el comer, sigue liderando listas de ventas y singles en el Reino Unido, nos presenta un nuevo single de su último trabajo: “Fallen empires”. El tema la verdad es que no es nada del otro mundo, o más bien, pese a tener una gran calidad no llega a ser un poco más de lo mismo.

A destacar, como siempre la capacidad compositiva de su vocalista, Gary Lightbody y el sonido siempre con tintes épicos de la banda. Mientras escuchamos la canción, esperaremos buenas nuevas de la banda norirlandesa.

Poco a poco Snow Patrol nos va descubriendo detalles de su próximo disco “Fallen empires”, y la verdad es que estoy deseando escucharlo. Su último disco me pareció realmente flojo y espero que con éste, aunque no llegue al nivel de “Eyes open”, la banda escocesa se redima ante su público.

El tema escogido es “This isn’t everything you are”, los más críticos con la banda pensarán que es más de lo mismo, y es posible que tengan mucha razón. Pero si tiene esta calidad, bienvenida sea esa repetición. En mi opinión le falta algo de ritmo, quizá en estudio suene algo más potente que en directo, ya que como comprobaréis en el video la canción se inicia con un ritmo excesívamente lento. Aún así un temazo. Disfrutadlo.

Called out in the dark

Waw! Esta semana está siendo una auténtica lluvia de novedades y de previews de discos que saldrán este otoño. En esta ocasion el turno es para los escoceses Snow Patrol, que en septiembre sacarán nuevo disc del que nos presentan su primer sencillo: Called out in the dark.

Called out  the dark sigue la línea de evolución marcada por su anterior disco, con un sonido cada vez más cercano al pop que al rock, pero sin perder sus esencias. Called out  the dark es una canción rítmica y progresiva tremendamente pegadiza, que aunque no llegue al nivel de temas como chasing cars o open your eyes, es una muy buena canción. Sin más dilación dejo que la degustéis:
